چکیده

This study focused on the natural grassland that was not eaten by livestock in degraded of Xilin River Basin, and grazing heavily with frequent human activities. Under enclosure management, Mongolian agrograss + Melilotus clover allocated to grassland, alfalfa brome without awning grassland. Wind erosion characteristics sans were studied under six management modes. The results showed that: (1) wind speed profiles different methods basically same pattern, which increased increase height. artificial A D an “S” shaped curve, while other four “J” curve. (2) relationship between height from ground exponential function, correlation coefficients R2 fitting equations all above 0.95. degree two good, measured matched well equations. (3) surface roughness human-managed highest, its average 61.84%, 117.01%, 3.71%, 65.68% 315.03% higher than five types respectively. significantly helpful improve roughness. Then soil reduced process sand flow.

Quantitative Analysis of Driving Factors of Grassland Degradation: A Case Study in Xilin River Basin, Inner Mongolia

Current literature suggests that grassland degradation occurs in areas with poor soil conditions or noticeable environmental changes and is often a result of overgrazing or human disturbances. However, these views are questioned in our analyses. Based on the analysis of satellite vegetation maps from 1984, 1998, and 2004 for the Xilin River Basin, Inner Mongolia, China, and binary logistic regr...

A landscape-scale assessment of steppe degradation in the Xilin River Basin, Inner Mongolia, China

Steppe degradation is a major ecological and economic problem in the Inner Mongolia steppe region, China because it reduces grassland productivity and leads to desertification. The objective of this study was to assess the spatial extent and severity of steppe degradation in the Xilin River Basin, Inner Mongolia using a landscape-scale approach. Our approach combined information from field surv...

Erosion and Weathering Processes in the Delaware River Basin

Total suspended sediments and the total dissolved solids (TDS) from three river gaging stations, near Delaware Water Gap, Riegelsville and Trenton on the Delaware River measured by the USGS were used to estimate the physical erosion, chemical weathering and total denudation rates of the Delaware River Basin. The denudation rates are 28 and 128 tons/km 2 /yr for the upper stream and downstream s...
